Packaging Equipment Technician

The Field Service Engineer position is a dynamic position which requires the ability to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair custom machinery. Must have electrical and mechanical background coupled with the ability to apply that knowledge to Wrapper machines.

Work Summary:

1. Install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment. Ability to read mechanical and electrical prints, wiring diagrams, and manuals to accomplish repairs.

2. Coordinate problem solutions with sales, engineering, and manufacturing.

3. Responsible for timely and accurate documentation of all service related activities.

4. Perform mechanical assembly of custom machinery.

5. Aptitude and interest in developing control programming skills.

6. Download, upload and edit PLC programs.

7. Set up, optimize, and operate machines mechanically.

8. Operate general plant tools and equipment.

9. Occasional travel to remote warehouse sites is required.

10. Conduct training with team members to ensure proper operation of equipment.

11. Ability to maintain a positive and professional manner while under stress.

12. Other duties as assigned.

Seeking an individual who can install, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and train customers on sophisticated automated packaging systems.

Technicians must have experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and the ability to interface with PLCs and multi-axis controls, sensors, and machine vision components.

Qualifications:

1. A degree in Electro-Mechanical and 5 years related experience OR comparable education and experience.

2. Strong troubleshooting ability to support electrical and mechanical applications.

3. Ability to resolve problems, think analytically and communicate professionally in high-pressure, time sensitive, customer environments.

4. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to communicate with customers.

5. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.

6. Ability to take initiative to understand and learn the various equipment capabilities and processes.

7. Must be team player, willing to grow and take direction in a high-energy work environment.

8. Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.

9. Ability to travel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
