Job Description
Summary/objective
Coaches, facilitates, and drives Daily Improvement (DI) activities throughout IQF Value Stream. Works directly with functional leadership and value stream team members to ensure adherence to the SupHerb Farms Business System (SHFBS), helping to drive quality improvements. Coaches day-to-day IQF Value Stream activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual expectations. Responsible for supporting all aspects of the value stream, including staff development, utilization of team consensus to evaluate decisions, ensure rapid implementation of decisions, and performance assessment of value stream leadership and associates.
This role provides the opportunity to be engaged at a cross-functional level to better learn the business. This role has a direct contribution to the continued execution and success of the SupHerb Farms Business System/Lean transformation.
Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Meets with the value stream staff regularly, reflecting on problems, solutions, and challenges, thereby creating a culture of continuous improvement.
- Supports the value stream leadership in daily operations and continuous improvements, which includes but are not limited to, field production, supply chain, quality, production control, manufacturing priorities and coordination between all shifts in the value stream.
- Work directly with value stream team to ensure continuous product flow, utilize pull systems to level the workload.
- Creates the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work and processes are followed, needed adjustments are implemented and the area is compliant with safety and 5S requirements.
- Instills and maintains a positive team atmosphere in the value stream; holds regular team meetings, assigns team member tasks and coordinates support activities to form departments outside of the team.
- Drives PDCA mindset utilizes SHFBS, including tracking centers and Team Improvement Centers to ensure results.
- Provides effective cross training for value stream staff and backups from other value streams to assure the continuous effectiveness of the value stream.
- Encourages team to stop and fix problems in order to get quality right the first time.
- Develops the future state value stream map and manages the plans to achieve it as documented.
- Develops and maintains an effective IQF Value Stream Tracking Center.
- Works with the value stream team to maintain Team Improvement Centers, ensures adherence to a visually controlled environment to assure no problems are hidden.
- Continually reports progress to executive team and maintains communication to organization.
- Coaches and supports process improvement and RCA problem solving sessions with leaders and value stream team members to capture improvement ideas, identify gaps, and resolve issues.
- Develops a relationship of trust, confidence, credibility, and commitment to the SHFBS.
- Continues skills development at the Gemba.
- Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
Required education and experience
- Effective skills in influencing and coordinating employees at all levels.
- Ability to set expectations and hold employees and supervisors accountable.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills through collaboration.
- Ability to develop and execute effective training, coaching, and facilitation skills.
- Pro-active in setting priorities and achieving self -directed results.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Must be able to flex schedule to work on alternate shifts and weekends as needed.
- Pro-active mindset in educational self-development.
Preferred education and experience
- Four-year degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
