Job Summary:
The Plant Operations Manager is to drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes to meet short and long range plans using the most economical and productive methods. You will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. You will be required to stay abreast of advances in manufacturing technology and management to implement changes and improvements that will maximize safety, quality, productivity and stewardship.

Minimum Qualifications:
Office / Manufacturing environment. Employee may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting etc.
This is an office-based position that requires walking, sitting, standing, bending, driving, reading, seeing, hearing, speaking, concentrating, and communicating.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Be responsible for plant metrics in the areas of EHS, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory.
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customer’s expectations
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining company quality standards
- Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
- Share a trusting relationship with company Leadership team
- Manage and develop plant staff
- Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
- Insure plant safety procedures are maintained and adhered to by all plant staff and personnel
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
- Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
- Demonstrate personal leadership and lead by example; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts
- Consistently display and foster good communication with employees at all levels
- Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress or emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments
- Interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and employees
- Work in an environmentally responsible manner
- Understand and support Company philosophies, goals and directions
- Produce and maintain a consistent quality of work
- Recommend improvements for area product and processes
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- A strong Lean Manufacturing knowledge and practice base
- A solid understanding of the financial impacts of operational actions
- Must have proven working experience as a manufacturing operations manager
- Familiarity with high mix / low volume production
- A demonstrated track record of effectiveness and team building
- College education; BS degree in Business Management or Engineering
- Masters or MBA degree preferred
- 7 – 10 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership position
- Proven upward progression and increased responsibility
- A strong Lean Manufacturing knowledge and practice base
- Previous manufacturing experience is required (machine shop experience a must)
- Microsoft Office knowledge
- General computer knowledge
- ERP System knowledge and exposure (Epicor experience is a plus)
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources)
