KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Comply with all food safety, workplace safety, and quality procedures!
•Perform R&D testing of finished products and raw materials.
•Perform the tasks as delegated by the R&D manager.
•Precise: must be able to weigh the recipes correctly
•Organizational skills: able to take care of the R&D samples inventory and shipments; keep the R&D kitchen clean and organized.
•Self-motivated to help and anticipate needs even if not directly requested
•Ability to execute pilot plant test independently (after adequate training)
•Work independently: must be able to follow instructions and move forward with the projects independently when management is not on site.
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices and department manuals
•Other duties will be assigned as needed.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
•Experience of 1 year of R&D or Food Service Experience or in culinary education equivalent.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Bilingual in English & Spanish a plus
•Math skills: must be able to calculate percentages.
•Proactive, self-motivated and detail-oriented
•Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
•Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is a plus but not mandatory.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to standing for prolonged periods; frequently walks, grasps, lifts, holds, or feels objects; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee often is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when working and handling products, computers, or machinery. The employee may be subject to assist and support up to 40 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on an as-needed basis. The employee could have work conditions that are cold or hot.
