The pastry baker lead assists in the culinary operations by leading the teams with managing the production schedule, supporting & developing the culinary teams, and inspiring a fun work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the teams by motivating, training, and developing the culinary team members
- Prepare a wide variety of standard and custom baked goods according to recipes and standard operating procedures including, but not limited to, cakes, cookies, pies, bars, puddings, buttercreams, etc.
- Lead team in production of custom baked goods. Develop and trains skills in mixing, baking, building, decorating and inscribing products
- Assign daily production to team members and ensure its completion
- Ensure all food is prepared, handled, and stored according to all required food safety code standards
- Operations focused: Operate and maintain bakery equipment, manage product inventory levels, and guest orders. Demonstrates a commitment to driving sales

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of previous culinary experience, pastry experience strongly preferred
- Must be able to safely utilize all bakery equipment
- Ability to work in multiple Regional and/or Market locations
- Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule according to business needs
- Must have reliable transportation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching overhead
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to taste product for quality assurance i.e buttercream(s), cake(s) and cupcake(s)batter, cookie dough and other recipes as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Culinary degree preferred
- High school diploma or GED
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English
OTHER:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California position is between $17 and 20. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
