Food Hub Floor Supervisor
Position
- Program: Food Sovereignty
- Employment Status: Term Limited Part-Time
- Wednesdays: 9 am - 7 pm
- Thursdays: 7 am - 5 pm
- Saturdays: Once a month
- Wage Classification: Non-Exempt
- Compensation: $18-$22 Hourly
- *This is a one-year position with potential for renewal
- Reports to: Food Hub Manager
Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to assist the Food Hub Manager with aggregation and distribution days for the Mobile Market. This position will be responsible for managing the staff and weekly operations of the Mobile Market.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee intake of products, provide quality control, and give feedback to farmers and food producers
- Managing the setup and breakdown of the Mobile Market packing floor
- Assigning tasks and responsibilities to employees as needed
- Providing clear instructions and guidance on completing assigned tasks
- Responsible for picking- up and breaking down weekly produce freight
- Monitoring the performance and productivity of employees
- Assisting Food Hub Manager in all customer logistics, including software adjustments and communication as needed to appropriate staff for culled orders, confirming pick-ups, and home deliveries.
- Assist new customers in setting up market accounts
- Supporting Mobile Market staff with aggregation and distribution of customer orders
- Communicate with the Food Hub Manager necessary weekly operational details
- Supporting the Food Hub Manager as needed, including identifying areas of opportunities, efficiencies, market demographics, etc
- Assist with monthly farmers' markets
- Other tasks as assigned
Desired Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge about local food and experience in logistics, food distribution, grocery, or similar field
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously while remaining attentive to details
- Proficient in Google Drive/Docs.Sheets/Forms
- The ability to collaborate and work comfortably with our team, customers, and vendors
- A passionate and results-oriented work style with an internal desire for ongoing improvement
- A flexible and positive attitude committed to improving our food system
- A standard driver’s license in good standing, as well as a clean driving record
- The ability to drive a REEFER box truck
- The ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs with frequency
- A Molokai community-minded outlook and vested in our vision of ʻāina momona
