What are the responsibilities and job description for the Department Coordinator I position at Sutter Health?
Under general supervision, the Department Coordinator I performs the day-to-day operations for the department. They will work in conjunction with the entire management team to assist with data collection, data analysis, and projects in relation to operational initiatives. They will be responsible for coordination of department schedules, meetings and /or events and may provide support and\or training to other administrative roles within the organization.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent education / experience
- Type at least 35 words per minute
- 6-12 months previous working experience in a customer service position, preferably in a medical / healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six months experience in a medical facility
- Graduate of a medical receptionist program
- Completed Medical Terminology course
Skills & Knowledge:
- Intermediate computer skills to include keyboarding, mouse movement and data entry skills
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, presentations, Org Chart software using pivot tables, formulas and graphics
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks in order to complete assignments within the time allotted and maintain standard workflow
- Ability to work with others in a flexible and cooperative manner
- Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions
- Strong verbal/written communication and active listening skills; including excellent interpersonal skills and telephone communication
- Bilingual in one other language is desired for this role to better serve the community and patient population
