The Communications & Marketing Specialist is part of the Insurance Segment Marketing Department supporting Sutter Health’s commercial and government payor products and strategies.The position develops and implements communications and marketing strategies, plans and tactics for all of Sutter’s customers including brokers, employers, plan members, patients, and prospective customers. This includes partnering with cross-functional teams to create marketing materials, communications plans, editorial calendars, newsletters, articles and stories, social media posts, web copy, intranet posts, etc. The position oversees all phases of editorial planning, research, writing, editing and implementation for long-term and large-scale programs, as well as smaller projects. The position assists in tracking metrics and developing reports to measure the effectiveness of marketing and communications programs.
Job Description:
This is a hybrid role and the person selected must live in the Northern California Sutter Health footprint and come on site as needed for work, meetings, etc.
EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Bachelor's: Business Administration, Marketing or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
5 years of recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
In-depth knowledge of marketing communication principles, practices and techniques with a solid understanding of current technical and social markets.
Working knowledge of the health insurance industry including products and services; legal, brand and regulatory compliance requirements; and the financial drivers.
Analytical and quantitative skills with a proven track record of effective project management skills.
Exceptional attention to detail with time management and organization skills, including being an effective decision maker and expert delegator.
Robust computer skills with the ability to use advanced features of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and with a working understanding of web technologies (HTML, Javascript, social media tools) and content management systems (LiveSite, TeamSite).
Evaluate marketing plans and processes to recommend process improvements.
Work independently, as well as be part of the team, with interpersonal, negotiation and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Manage, prioritize and drive multiple projects in an ever-changing environment to deliver quality products and services on-time and on-budget.
Identify and solve complex problems based on the analysis of multiple sources of information while providing new perspectives on existing solutions.
Build collaborative working relationships with peers, other departments, stakeholders and vendors to achieve marketing goals and corporate objectives.

Pay Range is $39.07 to $58.61 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
