Position Overview:
Applying the principles of the nursing process and working within the policies/procedures of the Patient Care Services Department and the Medical Center, the staff nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who, as the patient's primary nurse, is responsible and accountable for:
- The overall management of the nursing care provided, assuring competent, compassionate and cost-effective patient care from admission to discharge;
- Assuring the safety, comfort, personal hygiene and protection of patients and performing disease prevention and restorative measures;
- Responding to medical and environmental emergencies

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Significant experience working in a multi-specialty PREOP/PACU, preferably in aHospital and/or Ambulatory surgery center. Demonstrated knowledge and interpersonal skills necessary to tactfully interact with diverse healthprofessionals, physicians and patients. Extensive knowledge of ASPAN Standards and infection control practices Must have a working knowledge of applicable regulations and standards. Current knowledge regarding equipment utilized in the PACU Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communications, functional supervision/ delegation and humanrelations is required Must be a flexible, creative individual who is open to change along with the ability to handle multiplepriorities. Requires the ability to operate and trouble-shoot PACU equipment. Computer skills are required. Adult training skills are preferred. EDUCATION Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing RequiredBSN Preferred EXPERIENCE Minimum 1 year of current experience in area of specialty Required Two years current experience in area of specialty Preferred LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS Registered Nurse - State Licensure - RN Required Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS Required Basic Life Support Certification - BLS Required Pediatric Advanced Life Support - PALS Preferred Pay Range: 67.58-89.34
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
