Summary:
Responsible for directing and administering, through subordinate managers/lenders, loan production to achieve profit, growth and customer service objectives. Provides leadership within the Bank as it relates to loans, deposit products, non-deposit products, and sales and marketing. Assists other members of the Senior Management Team to develop short-term and long-term business strategies to ensure the Bank's success as it relates to shareholder expectations.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree.
Licenses/Certifications:
Experience: Fifteen years of business and agricultural lending experience to include commercial, business, agricultural and personal products. Retail branch management experience a plus. The completion of appropriate banking programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Functions:
A: Job Specific:
- Manages subordinate department managers in Lending, Deposit Services, Non-deposit Services, and sales function. Determines annual objectives and initiatives to maintain appropriate growth. Monitors each unit's performance. Coordinates efforts among these departments to improve market share, increase customer satisfaction and operate effectively within the highly regulated banking industry.
- Works with Market Managers, Marketing Director and sales staff to design and implement long term business plans, annual sales strategies and quarterly tactical plans to meet or exceed sales and revenue goals. Promotes sales activities that are indicative of the Bank's culture. Develops managers to coach personnel, lead the sales process, execute business/personal banking activities and achieve credit quality.
- Resolves escalated personnel problems, working with the Human Resources Manager to ensure resolution within established procedures and guidelines.
- Works closely with the Teller Operations Manager, Human Resources and Teller Trainer to educate branch staff on new and existing products, sales process, and customer service standards. Develops campaigns to motivate staff to meet objectives.
- Contributes to the ALCO discussions as it relates to loan rate pricing and strategies.
- Develops and/or approves policies, procedures and practices that relate to subordinate departments.
- Analyzes reports, market information and best practices. Develops interest rate structures for installment, commercial and mortgage loans to ensure competitiveness. Works directly with Chief Financial Officer to implement pricing strategies. Develops terms and conditions of loan products.
- Oversees the management of the Bank's loan portfolio. Represents Bank in major lending transactions.
- Communicates pricing strategies, production expectations and growth strategies to subordinates on a monthly basis.
- Develops managers in all areas of personnel management. Assists with the evaluation and disciplinary process. Oversees the staffing allocation of each unit. Approves salary changes and pay administration.
- Resolves all escalated customer issues.
- Represents the Bank at community events. Builds and maintains relationships with civic groups and area members.
- Promotes new deposit and lending business throughout the various communities.
- Stays abreast of all legislation and regulations that directly affect the operations of the Bank.
- Provides support to the CEO in areas of leadership, direction, and development.
- Assumes responsibilities for carrying out operations of the lending and deposit functions in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations, securing professional counsel when necessary.
- Provides input for the Bank's annual budget.
- Serves on the Bank's Loan Committee.
