JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Wireless Construction Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department Name: Wireless Division

Supervisor’s Title: Senior Project Manager Wireless Division

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS

The primary responsibility of a Wireless Division Construction Manager is to manage projects, customer relations, including but not limited to other tasks as directed by the Senior Project Manager. You will need to participate in daily scheduling, management meetings, site meetings, and continuing education courses. This position requires an “on call” attitude. The position manages projects that includes the installation and maintenance of DC and/or AC electrical systems from ‐0 to 480 volts. Such as but not limited to; grounding, services, lighting
& receptacles, battery/alternative energy/fossil fuel power systems and distribution. Civil construction, such as but not limited to; earth moving, retaining earth/water, concrete/asphalt, fencing, demolition, steel erection, carpentry, roofing, and painting. He/she must be able to work independently making sound decisions on behalf of the company. They will oversee, assist, and provide technical training and review for all work as assigned, contractor coordination, oversee and continually refine, perform safety inspections, stay current on State and local codes and changes, stay current on best practices and products available.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITES AND COMPETENCIES

  • Provide leadership and direction for Construction Leads, Construction Journeyman, Construction Apprentice, & sub‐contractors.

Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; team building and motivating. Leadership is defined as motivating and inspiring people to keep the project moving toward successful completion even in the face of the physical demands of aggressive project schedules and the emotional demands of discouraging developments gaining the full potential of labor resources available to accomplish the task

  • Uphold quality workmanship of those doing the work to the standard of Swartley Bros. managing the successful completion of the work site while seeing that is adheres to company policy, and safety expectations
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and vendors as well as development new business leads and opportunities
  • Understanding of all aspects of the Wireless industry including Electrical, Civil and Antenna Modifications
  • Plan and set goals in order to be profitable and safe during construction.
  • Coordinate and manage the efforts of the field techs and sub‐contractors, both logistically and technically.
  • Keep both the client and senior management informed of project progress and success.
  • Manage site related risks which means appropriately identifying, analyzing, and responding to risks over the course of the project. It includes both minimizing the consequences of adverse events and maximizing the results of positive events.
  • Be able to read and interpret blue prints
  • Visualize the construction plan to put work in place from the blue print
  • Be thoroughly familiar with construction laws and codes as they apply to project completion
  • Understand time management to positively impact the bid preparation process as well as implementation of work
  • Possess computer skills that demonstrate proficient computer literacy and successful utilization of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook,Dropbox, and Adobe.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills being able to communicate effectively at all levels throughout the construction process clearly and effectively communicating with customers, suppliers and employees. Must be able to give clear technical direction, set clear daily expectations, and help field tech to plan their day to meet your expectation.
  • Manage stressful situations positively
  • Possess sound judgment and decision making ability which means making the best choice from among many alternatives.
  • Possess administrative skills such as proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Chrome apps, and other web and data tracking applications
  • Possess strong organizational effectiveness meaning the ability to "get things done” in an efficient, concise and productive manner.
  • Be adaptable to changing element within and outside of control, such as weather, materials, labor resources or customer changes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High school diploma or GED or equivalent required plus vocational or technical training after high school, or equivalent experience, resulting in master level expertise in the trades An understanding of electrical distribution, control and wiring An understanding of construction techniques and safety A thorough understanding of the National Electric Code. Degree or college experience in Construction Management or Business preferred
  • Work Experience: 5 years Construction Lead/Foreman or prior Project/Construction Management
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license. Must maintain a driving record which meets the standards of the insurance policy.
  • Applicant must meet the company’s substance abuse testing requirements and policy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
