What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Specialist position at SWARTZ AMBULANCE SERVICE INC?
Swartz Ambulance Services is currently looking for Billing Specialist who is responsible for accurate and timely billing for medical transportation claims as well as contacting medical insurance companies in regards to claim inquiries.
Our mission is to provide the best customer service experience possible and help individuals navigate and deal with insurance companies to make sure claims are paid timely.
Responsibilities
- Assisting customers with questions regarding their transport and related charges
- Verify customer demographic information
- Billing out claims correctly to the proper insurance companies using the training provided
- Contacting insurance companies in regards to any form of claim inquiries
- Reaching out to patients to complete necessary information in order to process claim
- Setting up payment arrangements
- Completing correspondence and other items sent in by patients and insurance companies
- Perform all other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience with customer service
- Computer experience navigating between multiple systems simultaneously
- Ability to multi-task
- MS Office Experience and excellent typing skills preferred
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, etc.
- Comfortable speaking on the phone regarding medical and financial details
- Must demonstrate problem-solving abilities and high attention to detail
Work well in a group and individual setting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
