What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underground Driller Helpers position at Swick Drilling North America?
To assist in the operation of underground diamond drilling core rigs and related equipment used in finding and extracting ore and other minerals from the earth to ensure ongoing productivity targets and safety standards are met. Reporting to the Driller, the Driller's Helper provides support to the Driller in obtaining core samples. This requires hard physical work such as continuously pulling rods and emptying tubes, assisting to set up the drill, connecting hydraulic hoses, preparing inner and outer tubes, and more.
This job is 100% travel. All employees are flown in and out of Fairbanks, Alaska (can live anywhere). It is 12 hours a day underground, and is a camp job working 28 days on 14 days off. All board and accomodation is provided, plus $60 a day perdiem and bi-weekly footage bonus. Must be a US resident.
