About The Role Reporting directly to the VP, Finance Operations, the Director, Logistics will take a lead role in coordinating, communicating, and managing the overall [hiring company] Logistics capability. Responsibilities Manage a team responsible for procurement, sales and operations forecasting process, inventory management, reporting, and analytics. Provides leadership in ensuring sound processes and tools for on-time “order to fulfillment” cycle for customers. Manage vendor and 3rd party business partner relationships, ensure quality of service, and evaluate the success of leveraging these services as part of the overall strategy. Measure service performance by creating and tracking KPIs; provide periodic status reports to the executive leadership team on the overall health of logistics/inventory. Creative and resourceful in working with device engineering and 3rd party vendors to design/re-design kits that can be efficiently distributed to customers while maintaining professional-grade looks. Manage contracting on behalf of [hiring company] with major shipping carriers (Domestic/Global) and negotiate costs/service level. Execute on productivity projects to ensure supply chain costs are competitive and contribute positively to margin accretion. Provides leadership for continuous improvement in the current logistic setup (e.g., processes, technology/tools, physical infrastructure, vendor partnerships, etc.). Works with cross-functional teams from engineering to shared services to continuously improve [hiring company]’s tools and processes. Effective people manager who can hire, develop, and maintain a high-performing team. Qualifications 10 years of experience in logistics management (e.g., distribution center operations, process transformation, etc.). 5 years of experience in healthcare systems, hospitals, medical devices, or life sciences industry, with a general understanding of regulatory requirements for the industry. Process improvement methodologies such as Lean, 6 Sigma. MBA/Masters preferred. Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, supply chain management, engineering, or related area. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. System savvy and experience using relevant tools and technology such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), database management software, Excel, inventory control software, supply chain software, etc. Experience working with or managing global logistics processes for a medical device or healthcare company.
