Your role
Lead and direct all aspects of process automation for the chemical production plant sites in Bushy Park, Jacksonville, and Colonels Island. Serve as technical lead and sign-off for project execution teams. Lead the standardization and optimization of installed process control and instrumentation assets in the plants. Develop a coherent process automation system for all North American chemical production plant sites and standardize instrumentation, hard- and software. Design the architecture for process automation systems for capital projects, specify instrumentation, hard- and software needed and support purchasing of the equipment. Lead the Process Automation Group in supporting capital projects with system installation, programming of safety interlocks, operational sequencing, control systems, startup and operator training, and day-to-day trouble shooting. Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure required preventative maintenance programs are defined and implemented on process control systems, instrumentation, back up UPS power systems and other process control hardware. Ensure compliance with MOC procedures whenever there are modifications on process control systems. Manage resources for process automation activities in normal operation and capital projects. Remote work permitted up to 20%.
About you
- Master’s degree in electrical, chemical, or processing engineering; engineering management; automation; or a related discipline and four years of experience working in a process control system environment.
- Expert knowledge of computer systems, networking, and programming including Siemens PCS 7 and Emerson Delta V.
- Functional knowledge of cybersecurity in the process automation field, including network security and experience with firewall configuration and antivirus software.
- Functional knowledge of virtualized environments including the hypervisor, VMware ESXi.
- 25% domestic travel, and up to 10% international travel.
