- Disassemble, inspect, report and re-assemble various types of dewatering equipment, conveyors, pumps, and grinders.
- Perform repairs, upgrades, and other refurbishment to platforms, equipment guards and various components on dewatering and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform preventative, corrective and emergency mechanical maintenance on equipment under the direction of the shop management. This will include welding, pipe fitting and refurbishment of field/shop-based equipment.
- Maintain tools in good condition and proper placement after every job.
- Perform any general work or other assignments necessary to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the repair facility to include sweeping, shoveling, and other housekeeping activities.
- Prepare inspection report of the equipment.
- Demonstrate safe behaviors at all times and to perform their job in a safe manner.
- Participate and complete training programs within the time frame allotted.
- Work with hydraulic, and air powered equipment, piping, hoses, valves and sheet metal a plus
- Experience in equipment refurbishment and rigging a plus.
- Proven ability to operate powered equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner plus.
- Fabrication experience with ability to operate shear machine, press brake, ironwork, and various metal cutting saws a plus.
- Experience in welding, pipe fitting, metal cutting, with experience using plasma & acetylene torch a plus.
- Setting and alignment of rotating equipment is also a plus.
- Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment is a must.
- Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be able to operate a computer
- Military background is considered a plus
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Forklift and scissor lift operation preferred - certificate preferred
- Competency in sheet metal and light structural fabrication preferred
- Competency in Mig, Tig, & Stick welding highly preferred
- Shop based environment with various operating machines. Talking, Hearing, Seeing, Sitting, Standing, Walking, Feeling, Grasping, Climbing, and Lifting up to 100lbs.
- The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
- Able to work overtime
