We have an immediate opening for a full-time Payroll Specialist in our Creve Coeur office. This position is responsible for handling client interface on a day-to-day basis, managing all aspects of payroll for our clients, ensuring timely, accurate payment of employees and compliance with HR policies, federal and state regulations and court orders.
Responsibilities
- Primary point of contact with assigned clients. Responsible for maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, customer service and professionalism; responsible for promoting a positive image of the Company.
- Process client employee payroll, working with client leadership to ensure accurate time records and payroll deductions.
- Process payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance, and 401(k) deductions.
- Poll electronic time clocks and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.
- Utilize payroll software to prepare payroll and other reports for client.
- Process new hires, terminations, leaves of absence and status changes for clients; work with internal and external stakeholders to initiate or terminate benefits/COBRA.
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.

- Prior experience processing payroll beyond data entry is preferred;
- Prior experience with payroll software. Prism software ideal.
- Must adhere to employee and business confidentiality including employment records and HIPAA.
Education and/or Experience: Associate's Degree desirable. 2-3 years of prior payroll or similar experience.
Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role. Employee must have ability to use computer, mouse, look at computer screen for 8 hours/day; 5 days/week. Must have fine motor skills, ability to see, hear, and speak.
