What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Syndeo Staffing?
Syndeo has a direct hire opportunity for an experienced Controller for a local textile manufacturer. As the Controller you will establish and implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and systems for all operational areas. The Controller will be responsible for the preparation of the company’s financial reporting, management of the onsite HR person and outsourced HR & IT vendors.
Responsibilities:
Accounting – Monthly, quarterly, & yearly financials, prepare payroll and send to the HR firm for processing, tax preparation, and investments. Prepare financials accurately, timely, and in a format that’s meaningful to the company. Perform collaborative analysis of the numbers to help identify strengths and weaknesses as an internal advisor. Would like a leader that will turn the department into a performance-based function to support the organization.
HR – Oversee recruiting and hiring efforts. Manage onsite HR Coordinator; work in tandem with the company’s outsourced HR firm to ensure compliance, drive efficiency and policy improvements.
I.T. – Oversee processes and potential improvements; work with outsourced I.T company and internal technician to leverage capabilities in an effort to streamline internal business processes.
Requirements:
- 3 years’ experience as a Controller
- Must have a bachelor degree in finance or accounting
- Experienced in the preparation of financial statements preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Bi-lingual in Vietnamese or Spanish (preferred but not required)
- Government contract experience (preferred but not required)
