- Help manage capital projects at the Pawnee generating facility in Brush, CO.
- Responsible for managing all emergent capital projects at the plant as well as supporting larger base and major capital projects strictly for the Pawnee/Manichee facility.
- Support reliability engineering in helping develop scopes and justifications for projects and putting those through our emergent capital request system/process and would be responsible for managing all the projects.
- Responsible for upwards of 20 small projects going on at one time in addition to supporting some of the larger base capital projects.
- Working with operations and reliability engineering to learn about plant systems, how they operate.
- In addition to planning out future work to keep the plants reliable.
- Attending morning POD meetings, collaborating with operations and reliability personnel throughout the day, overseeing contractors performing/executing on the projects in the field
- Responsible for all the administrative project paperwork, such as developing scopes of work, technical specifications, helping get quotes for equipment, bidding out if necessary and coordinating material deliveries and installation with the plant as well.
- Would interface with external consulting engineers as necessary because the internal engineering group does not do a lot of engineering internally; they do more of the project management and, if engineering services are needed, they usually farm those out to external engineering firms.
- Team does use a ProjectWise drawing system to find existing drawings and documentation for the projects and the equipment that they will be working on; also uses Excel spreadsheets pretty frequently
- Will lead teams of other engineers, contractors, and vendors as well as working alongside plant operations and reliability so this resource must really have a strong ability to collaborate.
- In charge of large budgets, a lot of projects.
- This resource is helping to keep reliability of generating facilities in the CO region.
- Requires a Bachelors in Engineering (open to mechanical/electrical/civil and other engineering fields as well)
- Has taken the FE (fundamentals in engineering) exam or would like to.
- Engineering degree/background, however, will mostly be a project manager.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
- Proficient with or have experience with SAP in regard to workorder planning and purchasing is through SAP.
- Strong teamwork/interpersonal skills are required to be able to be successful in this role and build relationships.
- 10 years of experience
- Ability to multi-task and juggle several tasks without sacrificing quality, takes initiative, teamwork, interpersonal/communication skills
- Experience with cradle to crave
- Project management experience.
- Prior experience working in manufacturing/plant environment like a power plant.
- Previous experience managing contractors, or with project management and project plan development, charters, managing budgets, good with managing money, etc.
