What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Drafter position at Synerfac Technical Staffing?
- Maintain proper record retention regarding projects and equipment at the Mt. Holly facility.
- Manage drawing storage, drawing numbering, and drawing management systems.
- Maintain printers, plotters, and supplies regarding the processing of documents and storage of same. Aid in the distribution of documentation and research of previous projects/documentation as required by plant personnel.
- Ensure the safe, efficient, effective and continuous Plant operations through assistance to Supervisors,
- Engineers, Maintenance Mechanics, Electricians, and Production Personnel.
- Comply with all of Mt. Holly"s safety and operational protocols.
- This position functions under the direction of a Engineering and Maintenance Manager subject to established policies, precedents, and practices. The incumbent is allowed considerable freedom of action to plan, organize, and help others to achieve department objectives and goals.
- The Plant operates 24 hours per day, 365 days a year.
- The incumbent must have experience working in an industrial environment and familiarity with process equipment, P and ID"s, equipment drawings and standards.
- They must be highly organized and be able to interact with all levels of personnel at the Plant.
- They must be self motivated and have documented training regarding Auto-Cad.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Products with emphasis on Excel.
- The position requires five to ten years of Auto-Cad drafting experience preferable in an industrial environment.
- The incumbent must be self-motivated.
- Read and work from blueprints, sketches, charts, manuals, wiring and schematic diagrams, and other information and instructions. Maintains records and makes reports as necessary.
- Actively participate in crew and plant safety programs.
Associate Degree or Higher
Five (5) years Auto-Cad Drafting Experience - preferably in an industrial environment.
Formal AutoCad Training is required for this position.
Ability to converse with engineers, supervisors, trades people, and vendor
Physical Requirements:
The tasks listed are the most physically demanding tasks required of the position.
1) Standing: Workers stands on concrete, rock, dirt or equipment (frequent basis).
2) Walking: Worker is walking on concrete floors, rock or dirt during the shift (frequent basis).
3) Strength: A. Lifting: Worker is required to lift various tools, parts and equipment such as an electrical testing and measuring equipment, conduit, ladders and scaffolding, vibration analyzers, soldering equipment, metal cutting and forming machines, hoisting and rigging equipment. Some of the equipment can weigh up to 50 pounds. Typically the technician is lifting and carrying power tools, drills and hand tools weighing up to 20 pounds.
B. Carrying: Worker carries tool kits and calibrating equipment weighing up to 30 pounds, extension ladders.
C. Pushing/Pulling: Minimal
4) Climbing: Steel ladders (occasional).
5) Balancing: Good balance is required during ladder climbing, bucket truck work.
6) Bending: Dependent on the maintenance job being performed; the jobs vary from day to day.
7) Kneeling: Occasional
8) Crawling: Not required
9) Reaching: Full ROM of UE required
10)Handling: Good manual dexterity required in repair of circuits, pumps, motors, working with hand tools and testing equipment.
