Role Purpose
AgriculturalDiesel mechanic;
Supports all aspects of the Alva farm maintenance programs and activities. Includes preventative maintenance program design and deployment. Conducting scheduled and emergency facility and equipment repairs. Must understand and practice activities within all company and regulatory safe work requirements and regulations.
Accountabilities
- Perform PM's on all equipment ensuring that all equipment is maintained and that the PM's ensure safe operation of the equipment at all times.
- Identify equipment requiring maintenance, repair, or replacement
- Must operate within all regulatory and HSES guidelines, processes and protocols; ensuring a safe working environment.
- Participate in company's HSES programs, trainings and procedures
- Provide effective feedback to stakeholders on progress of repairs and maintenance
- Ensure that quality performance standards are met.
Requirements
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of safe work regulations, including but not restricted to; Lockout Tag-Out, Ladder safety, and PPE Requirements.
- 3-5 years' experience with a wide range farm equipment and other construction and operational equipment
- Must be able to repair/rebuild and diagnose diesel and gas powered equipment accurately and efficiently
- Must be able to diagnose and repair 12,24,36,48-volt D/C electrical systems
- Must have experience with drivetrain diagnostics repair and replacement, brakes, differentials, PTO, and axles.
- Must have knowledge and experience with both diaphragm and piston type pumps
- Must be a team player
- Ensure that all quality standards are met.
- Must understand hydraulic systems and be able to diagnose and repair both open and closed loop systems.
- Work independently
- Computer experience with Windows Office programs, eMaint or other maintenance programs.
- Maintain the safe and reliable operation of all farm equipment, including the water treatment operations
- Continual communications to key stake holders and status of equipment and repairs
- All applicants must be eligible to work in the US.
- Must have a valid driver license.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Required participation in the rotating On-Call maintenance program
Physical demands of the essential functions:
- Must be able to work flexible work hours when required; including nights and weekends
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week plus over time as required
- Must be able to work in inclement weather
- Must be able to wear respirator.
- Ability to carry 25 lbs for up to 15 minutes.
Working conditions while performing essential functions:
- Field work is subject to field environment conditions.
- Working with and around approved agricultural chemicals.
