Job Description
SUMMARY:
Serve as shipping coordinator to facilitate import, export and domestic transportation of all shipments. Perform a combination of shipping, receiving and back-up for stocking activities in stock room.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and/or facilitate international import and export shipments; working with the customer, shipper, freight forwarder and Customs.
Prepare proper customs documentation. Ensure customs compliance and maintain proper record keeping.
Work with Shipper, freight forwarder and U.S. Customs for shipments held in customs.
Upon request provide tracking information for import and export shipments.
Provide quotations of estimated freight costs for shipments.
Work with external or internal classification group to handle HTS classification (Tariff code) issues.
Work with assigned trucking vendors for set-up of shipment.
Maintain inventory of packaging materials and re-order as required.
Packaging of orders for shipment with attention to protection of sensitive parts.
Entering shipment information into UPS and FedEx software to execute shipments.
Computer transactions to process sales order associated with shipment.
Loading and unloading trucks, verify box counts, delivery of parts to proper location.
Filing claims and documenting damaged or missing freight.
Cross train and provide back-up to Stockroom in material handling duties.
Ability to work hours of 9:00 – 5:30
