PositionSummary :
This is aprofessional sales position responsible for growing new businesswithin the fresh produce category, with the expectation ofachieving assigned business goals while enhancing the customerexperience.
This will be accomplished through maintaining industryand category specific certification status and direct selling ofthe category to customers.
Specialists will prioritize time,targets, and team selling efforts based on market insights and dataanalytics.
Responsibilities :
- Developand execute targeted produce sales strategies to achieve region andindividual annual business goals, delivering profitable salesgrowth and penetration across the fresh produce category, specialtysegments, and Sysco brand
- Identify the needs ofcustomers and prospects to assemble a product mix that deliverssolutions and helps achieve businessobjectives
- Utilize data analytics to prioritizeproduce opportunities
- Activelyseek, qualify, and support top prospectconversion toSysco
- Be informed of marketconditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices,and sales; share information with customers as part of value-addedservices provided
- Track activities and results,collaborate on opportunities, and champion the team selling processthrough use of Salesforce (Sysco’s CRMtool)
- Leverage sampling in a solutions-orientedmanner to close sales
- Providefeedback to specialty companies and merchandising on productquality, product integrity, product mix, customer satisfaction,perceived value andcompetition
- Developand maintain relationships with customers, chefs and sales teammembers
- Supportexecution of prioritized sales strategies through direct sellingand engagement of customers and prospects at Sysco events (e.
g.food shows, industryevents)
QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience :
- Minimum : High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of sales experience withina retail, broker, wholesale or distribution environment (deeptechnical expertise of produce categories)
- Preferred : Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent educationallevel
Knowledge&Skills :
Proficiencyin produce knowledge and trendsrequired
InternalCertification & External Certification may berequired)
- Analyticalproblem-solving skills, including familiarity with analyzingreports and deriving insights from data
- Abilityto express information in terms of profit and loss, food cost andexpense ratio
- Strong financial acumen andability to properly plan and execute businessplans

- Track record of success in the areaof consultative selling, networking andnegotiations
- Proficient communication andinterpersonal skills and ability to work with and influence avariety of key stakeholders
