What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Specialist position at System One?
System One has partnered with a reputable non-profit organization in the Tulsa area that has a temporary opening for the right individual to work as part of their Benefits team. This will be a 12-week project, potentially lasting through the end of the year. This organization is seeking someone with knowledge and background in benefits administration, experience working in HRIS is required.

- Assists with administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollment and eligibility. Acts as a liaison to answer questions regarding benefits and enrollments, and forwards questions to the appropriate contact person when needed. Reviews and approves benefit enrollments for completeness and accuracy; follow up with employees as needed and enter necessary changes in the HRIS. Partner with COBRA vendor to ensure agency compliance and provide support to all COBRA eligible participants.
- Works closely with Benefit Coordinator to administer Leave of Absence benefits, with the centralization of all LOA functions through the home office. Provides support to the HR team, managers, employees, and payroll throughout the process. Maintains the LOA tracking system and electronic file folders.
- Administers the benefit HRIS system, and prepares the system for the 2023 open enrollment
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required
- At least 5 years of experience in Human Resource Benefit Administration
- Familiarity with retirement plans, disability, and FMLA
- Ability to work full time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday during normal business hours
- Team player, reliable, ethical, and organized individual
- Experience with HRIS systems
