Overview
Provide engineering and configuration management support to ensure Northwest Range Operations and Sustainment (NWROS) active threat/FME systems and equipment remain operational and maintainable; inoperable systems and equipment are returned to an operational condition; and new or mothballed systems are brought to an operational and maintainable condition.
DUTIES INCLUDE: The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Perform engineering, manufacturing, construction, installation, operational testing, and integration of threat/FME equipment and facilities at all sites to ensure the operation of the NWROS as an integrated system to meet functional specifications and customer requirements
- Implement approved engineering project task requirements to include engineering and/or integration of threat/FME system modification, range reconfigurations, testing, and new system buildups
- Coordinate equipment relocation support to include cost analysis, optimization studies, engineering studies, integration, testing, and installation in support of range growth or other requirements
- Provide inoperative systems support to include engineering actions necessary to return equipment/systems to operational status
- Provide technical support to include engineering actions on equipment and software changes and additions relative to short-term operational test programs
- Support the Quality Control Manager with Configuration Management
- Evaluate and monitor all modifications to equipment or facilities and change requests to improve operability/reliability/ maintainability
- Document maintenance actions in NWROS Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university (in lieu of BS, 10 years field engineering or Electronic Technician Level III on Foreign Material Air Defense or Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems is acceptable)
- Ability to read Cyrillic alphabet and basic reading knowledge of Russian or Ukrainian text is desirable
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Five years' experience with increasing levels of responsibility in complex electronic systems
- Five years' technical experience with Tactical Training Range systems (or equivalent military systems)
- Four years' experience in Electronic Surveillance Measures/Electronic Counter Measures (ESM/ECM) and radar employment
- Three years' electronic maintenance experience in the following areas:
- Digital/analog signal processing
- Synchro-servo circuits
- Radar, RF signal processing
- Electromechanical devices
- Optical equipment
- Video signal processing and recording
- Communications (multiplexer equipment, VHF, UHF, microwave, fiber-optic)
- Digital/analog computer systems
- DC power supplies; low and high voltage AC equipment; primary and secondary power equipment; auto-transfer (UPS) equipment; portable AC generators
- Test equipment
- Operating experience with search, acquisition, ground control intercept, height finder or fire control radar systems, and familiarity with the tactical employment of threat/FME systems
- Possess a valid driver’s license; must be able to be insured through Company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of your work employment.
- U S Citizenship required and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance prior to hire and maintain clearance throughout employment.
