Reports to Warehouse Manager
SUMMARY
The Warehouse Picker assists warehouse manager by selecting merchandise from warehouse to ship to store locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Efficient and safe loading and unloading of
trucks in a secure manner to prevent damage
· Assists in receiving merchandise and reports any
discrepancies
· Helps stock merchandise
· Locate products using technology
· Position orders at loading docks
· Maintains proper staging and loading areas
· Re-stock inventory manually or with warehouse
equipment
· Inspects in coming merchandise and informs
Warehouse Manager of all damages
· Assists in maintaining a clear, safe, clean
warehouse
· Maintain equipment and report on malfunctions
· Maintains a neat appearance and professional
attitude
· Maintains proper paperwork
· Obeys all safety rules
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry, reach, grasp, stoop, bend for up to 10 hours at a time. Must be comfortable with working on open platforms, up to 2 stories high.
This position requires an individual who is honest, reputable, dependable and has both the ability and desire to serve the customers in an efficient and professional manner. Must have good communication and time management skills.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proven experience as order picker or another warehouse position
Experience or license in handling forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment - helpful but not required
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Great attention to detail
Ability to read and understand simple instructions, paperwork, merchandise tickets, safety rules and regulations
Must be flexible and have the ability to perform under pressure
Ensure that work area is properly maintained in a neat, orderly fashion
Perform duties for other personnel who are absent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of the Warehouse Helper, the employee will be regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, talk, hear and use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. This employee is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch. This position requires the employee to frequently move or lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and occasionally move up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques. This person must be able to visually inspect merchandise and delivery documents.
