What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Delivery Manager position at TAB Bank?
The Product Delivery Manager, Technology Services is a member of the Technology team and a member of Program/Portfolio/Product Delivery Management leadership team. This role will play an essential part in contributing, facilitating, and building the technical environment for TAB to realize the benefits of agile practice and mindset for the entire organization. Additionally, this role will play an integral part in helping the organization continue the agile and digital transformation. The purpose of this role is to Coach a cross-functional programs/portfolio team (ART), helping team members to focus on complex technology initiatives while building and delivering clear business value. Additionally, this role will be instrumental in guiding ART team members’ continuous improvement by fostering development and delivery efficiencies, and by effectively utilizing agile principles and best practices for system design, development, and delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing transparency to the work at all levels from ideation to delivery:
- Build and model product delivery mindset from ideation to delivery
- Help facilitate creation of roadmaps, program plans, Kanban and scrum boards
- Guide teams in creating team calendars, facilitate agile events and help maintain cadence while focusing on measurable outcomes.
Facilitating economic decision making and budgeting:
- Facilitating transparency for capital and operational expenses for Technology Team
- Facilitating transparency for team and vendor management cost. Facilitating sizing including team workshops
Contributing to business value delivery:
- Providing transparency to the connection between measurable outcomes, plans and delivered work. Facilitate stakeholder engagement (intake, demos, prioritization)
Provide product delivery management process and leadership to enable digital transformation – focusing on agile transformation:
- Coaching leaders (stakeholders), teams, product and Scrum Masters in new processes and mindsets
- Facilitating agile and SAFe training and coaching to leadership and delivery roles
- Serving as a member of the Lean Agile Center of Excellence
- Contributing to the refinement and prioritization of the ART coaching backlog to meet company and transformation objectives.
- Foster Communities of Practice, building methods and processes to resolve conflicts with prioritization.
Contribute to increased Speed to Market:
- Giving transparency to dependencies, escalating impediments, and managing/mitigating risks.
- Identifying resource bottlenecks
- Championing and fostering Built-In Quality practices
Facilitating Planning and continuous exploration events, including:
- Quarterly (PI) planning, product team execution coordination events (PO sync, cross team sync, system demo, etc.)
- Facilitate frequent product and architecture exploration events.
Championing and facilitating relentless improvement
- Facilitating Inspect and Adapt activities, including backlog refinements for identifying desired actions and outcomes
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of Project and Program Management, and/or combination of management experience in Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech managing large enterprise projects and programs.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience and certified as an Agile Practitioner and/or SAFe Practitioner (SAFe CSM, RTE, POPM, SPC Preferred).
- Experienced in delivery and implementation of enterprise-level multi-year projects and programs, including technology products, and/or SaaS solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management System, Communication, Journalism, Engineering, or similar fields, or a verifiable combination of relevant experience and education.
- Ability to successfully communicate and work with all levels throughout the company, including senior executive stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively work with all levels of customers, external vendors and partners, and internal business and technology teams to problem-solve, define scope, write technical specifications, quantify, and track success metrics.
- Having the ability to create and manage a clear plan is a must.
- Experience in the customer discovery and product requirement development process.
- Ability to conceptualize, manage and prioritize multiple projects for stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate between the business and technical domains of a software implementation project, providing leadership in both.
- Detail orientated with superior organizational skills - balancing multiple projects/programs, deadlines, and requests should be second nature to you.
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to teach and coach teams in agile methodologies including scrum, Kanban and SAFe
- Comfortable providing work transparency through tools (i.e. JIRA, Confluence, and various plug-ins)
- Comfortable with remote facilitation tools (i.e. MS Teams, etc.)
- SAFe5 Program Consultant (SPC) with current enablement is preferred
