About The Role
As a Data Analysis Junior Researcher, you will partner with and support physicists to help define and refine their needs for data extraction, processing, and visualization. You will work in a variety of areas including, database creation/maintenance, documentation, data processing code development, general support for the Data Analysis team, as well as be responsible for your own research projects.
- Interface with physicists to determine and fulfil their research needs via analysis codes.
- Create data processing codes and maintain documentation.
- Easily, effectively, and successfully work on multiple tasks both independently and collaboratively within a group.
- Work in a diverse R&D environment and professionally communicate with co-workers at all levels.
- Create and maintain databases for newly generated data.
- Aid with visualization of raw and processed data using web front ends including development of background visualization tool.
About You
- Need to have basic knowledge of plasma physics and mathematical methods of physics.
- Some experience with data analysis.
- Prior experience in experimental or computational physics.
- 1-2 years Python programming experience.
- Other programing languages like C , C# is a plus.
- Some SQL and MongoDB experience required.
- Experience and/or interest in Machine Learning is preferred.
- Collaborative environment experience with Git, JIRA, Confluence.
- Some experience and interest in developing web visualization tools.

- Required: B.S. Degree in Physics or Computer Science
