Tahoe Chamber is seeking to hire for a Member Services position. Member Services will actively promote the value, benefits, services and programs of the Chamber and Chamber Foundation to member and non-member businesses; and is responsible to meet the new member, retention, and sponsorship goals as set forth by the Chamber’s annual business plan. This position reports to and works closely with the President & CEO.
Specifically, the Member Services position is responsible for meeting the annual budgeted income goals pertaining to:
- New membership investments from non-member businesses.
- Retention of current member businesses and management of collection on past due accounts.
- Sales of sponsorships for events and programs on behalf of both the Chamber and the Chamber Foundation.
- Donations to the Tahoe Chamber Foundation.

This position will focus on engaging our members in the Lake Tahoe Basin and surrounding region through a combination of outreach–both online and in-person, connecting our members to resources and to one another, and participating in Tahoe Chamber events and partner meetings.

This position is responsible for supporting and engaging Tahoe Chamber’s 400 members and their employees and continuing to grow the total number of Tahoe Chamber members. Members range in size from 1-person startups to some of the largest companies in the region. Our membership also includes higher education institutions, nonprofits, and state and local government agencies.
Tahoe Chamber has a considerable number of member companies that it serves, and this position will identify opportunities to improve and streamline the overall member experience. This position will help to inform the Chamber’s initiatives and events based on discernible trends emerging within our network and the collective needs and challenges of Tahoe Chamber’s members.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Chamber’s CRM and member management/engagement tools to ensure the accounts are current, relevant information is being captured and utilized for optimal engagement
- Manage all aspects of Tahoe Chamber’s member retention program to achieve member retention objectives
- Plan, manage, and deliver all aspects of membership events, including communication with sponsors, venues, and speakers, for each of our membership events and programs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for our members and help them network, learn about, and access resources from Tahoe Chamber and its partners
- Assist the CEO with development and maintenance of membership benefits, programs and services
- Manage the sales of non-dues revenue streams including, but not limited to, event sponsorships and advertising
- Other duties as assigned
Salary and Benefits
Salary is $50,000 annually, plus bonus. Tahoe Chamber offers a comprehensive insurance and benefits package, including medical, dental, vison, life, and long-term disability insurance, and generous Paid Time Off (PTO), among other benefits. This is a full-time, exempt position, with a work environment that is primarily in-office, M-Th 9-5, Fr 9-12, with hybrid/flex options available.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 1-3 years relevant work experience in customer success, account management or sales
- Possess knowledge and skills in using CRMs
- Must have strong emotional intelligence and strong collaboration and negotiation skills
- Must have excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects
- Ability to be creative and change and adapt plans as needed
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including some weekends and nights
