What are the responsibilities and job description for the SFCC Architect position at Talbots?
The Ecommerce Architect is responsible for providing technical oversight, designing sophisticated solutions, and evaluating and implementing strategic initiatives. This person will support all aspects of the ecommerce channel, including the SFCC website, the agile ecommerce team, and the extended team of upstream and downstream systems and outside vendors. This person will have proactive focus on ensuring site development is aligned with the appropriate standards and performance expectations.

What You’ll Do:
Architecture – 40%
- Advise on platform best practices and provide various approaches to solving problems.
- Participate in annual, quarterly, and sprint level planning from an architectural approach.
- Participate and advise on site issues related to performance and stability.
Technical Leadership – 40%
- Activity participate in all phases of the sprint lifecycle from ideation to post-implementation stabilization
- Work with the business and technical team to best meet requirements, balancing speed, scope, and priorities
- Oversee the mentor of the development team to ensure the highest quality and security of code and adherence to best-practices
- Collaborate with stakeholders within the agile process, identifying and mitigating risks, and creating appropriate action plans when issues arise
- Assist with proof-of-concept deliverables where the technical outcome needs further evaluation
- Function as a hands-on developer during high volume time periods, or when critical priorities arise
Operational Support – 20%
- Support the L1 and L2 operational support teams with unusual, complex, or global code base issues
- Comply with established policies and procedures for change management
- Support the code management and asset management process
- Support the production build process
- Provide periodic support at night, weekends, or holidays when support issues arise or as business needs demand
- Provide leadership on the proactive identification of site issues

Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
- 10 years working within the Information Technology space
- 3 years working as an SFCC/Demandware architect
- 5 - 7 years of application development experience, mostly on the SFCC/Demandware platform
- Demonstrated experience defining, designing, and implementing major applications
- Experience in the design and development of custom integrations (both internal and external) for Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
- Ability to lead strategic discussions with senior leadership, balancing the organization’s vision, technology ideals, and business objectives
- Ability to identify and provide solution recommendations based on business objectives, technology, scope, timing, and resources, and various approaches to how a given problem may be solved, when necessary
- Experience in the creation and maintenance of services integrated with Microsoft Azure
- In depth knowledge of Agile Software Development practices and balancing team-specific needs
- Must be flexible and adaptable to different technologies and willing to evolve
- Experience with performance tuning or caching methodologies
- Strong coding skills and technical background covering a variety of platforms, databases, and coding languages
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
- Keen problem-solving skills, ability to deal with complex situations and recommend a technical solution
- Must be flexible and able to respond to rapid change to meet business needs
- Strong analytic, problem solving and business acumen
- Desire to learn new technology and stay abreast of current technical trends

SFCC B2C Commerce Architect (required)
SFCC B2C Commerce Developer (required)
