Job Description
Position : VMWare NSX Engineer Location : Redmond, WA remote
Skillsets:
• Excellent understanding of Networking technologies, including security, and monitoring aspects
• Excellent understanding of VMware NSX-T and automation concepts, experience with REST, Ansible, Python, and PowerShell preferred.
• Experience designing and operating enterprise level solutions for a global organization.
• Provide support for VMware NSX technologies with focus on Local Load Balancer, Firewall as a Service, Multicast Support, Advanced network monitoring, and Micro segmentation.
JD:
• Situational awareness for top usage customers (clarify Customer impact – prioritize and escalate as appropriate)
• Responsible for both Sev 2 and Sev 3 incidents – Customer ReportedIncidents
• Responsible for VMware Data Plane assistance resolving all incident types (e.g. request assistance from Triage / Live Sites impacting a single tenant)
• VMware (data plane) Live Site response as monitoring enhancements arise.
• Responsible for Live Site Incidents (LSIs) investigation and mitigation, make sure any potential customer impactful incidents can be notified and mitigated ASAP to minimize customer impact
• LSI updating and maintaining.
• Assisting CxEdge to engage with customers directly.
• Post Incident and Case Reviews
• Participate on call with customers to increase the efficiency of gathering troubleshooting information, and maintain close communication until the issue is mitigated or resolved
• Pulling logs and gathering support bundles for investigation
• Escalating to VMWare and timely follow up on the open tickets, targeting improvements on VMWare response rate, as appropriate.
• Be able to perform 85% of mitigations (target goal)
