About The Role

The Senior Cost Accountant will work closely with various departments within the organization to ensure accurate costing information and provide valuable insights to support decision-making processes.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data.
- Analyze manufacturing processes, overhead costs, and inventory levels to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, variance analysis, and other financial performance metrics to support management decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and engineering, to gather relevant data and insights for cost analysis.
- Participate in the development of product costing models and pricing strategies to optimize profitability.
- Conduct regular audits of costing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Provide guidance and support to junior members of the finance team on cost accounting principles and best practices.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in cost accounting to recommend and implement process improvements.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans by providing insights and analysis related to cost drivers and trends.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and explanations related to cost accounting practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, cost allocation methods, and financial analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present findings to senior management.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with cost accounting software and tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to cost accounting (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
