Talento Search Group has an opening for a Purchasing Agent in the Phenix City, Alabama area. This is a direct-hire position.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list and recommending alternatives.
- Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material as required by customer forecast and internal ERP system of sales orders/production orders.
- Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all manufacturing components and finished goods, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential delays for delivery.
- Prepares purchase orders by verifying price and obtaining approval from requisitions.
- Verifies receipt of product by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipping errors with suppliers. Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers.
- Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.
- Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.
- Setup & maintain material master system planning parameters (MOQ, lead time, safety stocks)
- BS/BA in Business or related field is preferred
- At least 1 years of purchasing role in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with MS Office suite – advanced skills with MS Excel
- Strong sense of urgency & attention to detail
- Excellent organization, communication and follow-up skills
