The Utility Truck Mechanic has a real impact on the success of our company by strengthening our customer relationships through better service. Within this position, you will use your unique skill set to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain all necessary customer equipment, including, but not limited to, bucket trucks, digger-derricks, boom trucks, and more.  

What you’ll be doing -  

• Perform service tasks as assigned by the Service Manager via work orders. 

• Utilize technical skills to perform hydraulic and electrical tests, using J-Pro computer programming for diagnostic testing and parameter settings.  
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions using schematic diagrams and technical manuals.  
• Order parts and provide quotes for clients while maintaining superior customer service.  
• Support safety policies, goals, and objectives by using sound judgment and safe practices.

What you’ll need to succeed -  

• High school diploma required, trade school (2 year degree) preferred  
• Previous experience as a utility truck mechanic/technician is required 
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repair  

• Continuing education with manufacturer’s technical schools or training is preferred  
• DOT certification; ANSI/OEM training preferred  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills  
• Proficient computer and printing skills are required – ability to use a laptop and Microsoft Suite 
• Proficient in using mobile phone applications that are necessary for job-related paperwork  

• MSHA/First Aid/CPR certifications preferred  
• Must have your own hand tools  
• Must be able to work overtime when needed  
• Ability to sit, stoop, kneel, push, climb, life, balance, and reach overhead, including the ability to lift up to 90 lbs. and work in a variety of climates, temperatures, and terrains
