What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Tallula's Restaurant?
As the first point of contact with our guests, our Hosts are valuable representatives of our business. Our Host's take pride in their roles here and it is demonstrated through their appearance, demeanor and work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests as they enter, show them to their table or put them on a waiting list as necessary
- Provide guests with menus and answer any initial questions
- Keep accurate table rotation in mind to ensure appropriate filling of table sections according to reservation list
- Engage with guests in a welcoming and friendly manner to ensure a pleasant dining experience from the start
- Promptly and willingly respond to any guest concerns or complaints and help resolve them or direct to the appropriate person
- Answer phone calls, take reservations and answer any guest questions
- Assist with other positions in the restaurant as needed
- Provide excellent customer service to every person who enters through our doors
Requirements:
- Restaurant experience a plus
- Be comfortable standing for long periods and managing a very busy shift
- Able to safely lift and easily maneuver items when necessary
- Able to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
- A positive attitude & ability to work well under pressure and with all restaurant staff
- Able to preform high-quality work while unsupervised
- Have a high level of professionalism and discretion in dealing with all of our guests
- Have solid organizational and people skills, particularly when managing guestbook and reservation bookings
- Be available to work various daytime, evening and weekend shifts
