The Job
As Enterprise Data Developer at Tango Card, you will help implement data transformation initiatives in support of Tango Card’s enterprise data platform evolution. You will work across teams and business systems to meet operational data goals, and help identify opportunities for process improvement. With a robust functional and technical understanding of data integration and transformation, you will collaborate across the organization to analyze problems, create a solid foundation, and deliver solutions on major initiatives for your fellow Tangocardians.
This is a critical role on a growing Data Architecture team dedicated to seeing the big picture, breaking down silos, and asking questions to provide the right solution – all in an agile environment and a best-of-breed tech stack. We need someone passionate about modern data platforms like Snowflake and DBT, who shares our vision for a consumer model and democratizing data, who can build solutions that satisfy analytical and operational data needs.

Reports To: VP, Business Technology
As Enterprise Data Developer at Tango Card, you will:
- Design and implement data integration and transformation solutions in alignment with the Enterprise Data Architecture.
- Adhere to established policies and standards for modeling, structuring, naming, describing, securing, and formatting data.
- Take our data platform to the next level by crafting ELT Pipelines, and Reverse-ETL to enable seamless and effective data sharing across the organization.
- Build and scale data pipelines from our source applications and databases into Snowflake.
- Validate and test ETL/ELT processes, monitoring performance and tuning as necessary
- Extract, scrub, quality control, normalize, and model data, setting and following guidelines.
- Design, build, and maintain system integrations to automate and scale our data and business systems.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Business Intelligence, Security, and others to inform strategy and design.
- Complete assigned tickets including functional/technical development, testing, review, UAT, and deployment while communicating progress and blockers.
- Promote best practices and help guide the team toward continuous improvement.
- Understand data technology trends and the practical application of existing and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business needs.
- Develop training around data integration and transformation general practices and principles.
To be effective in our Enterprise Data Developer role, you must have:
- 5 years in relevant combination of Data Integration / ETL, Business Systems, and/or Solutions Consulting
- 5 years designing, building, and scaling data pipelines for data lakes and enterprise ETL/ELT for data warehousing, preferably 1 years using DBT or similar
- 2 years hands-on data modeling experience following standard practices (eg: Kimball methodology)
- 3 years hands-on experience with current data platforms & databases (eg: Snowflake, Redshift, or Postgres)
- Expertise in SQL and other query languages
- Experience supporting Data Science / Analytics use cases with data cleansing and data transformation
- Experience with enterprise applications, such as CRM (eg: Salesforce), ERP (eg: NetSuite), and other systems
- Background in programming languages and concepts, eg: Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or Java
- Skilled at solving ambiguous problems and thinking both forward and proactively when designing analytic solutions
- Demonstrated success collaborating across geographically dispersed teams with a diverse set of technical backgrounds
- Ability to maintain exemplary communication and a customer-focused approach while working across multiple projects
- A willingness to collaborate, embrace change, and apply entrepreneurial approaches to analytic solutions
Our ideal Enterprise Data Developer at Tango Card will have most of the following skills and experience:
- 4 year college degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Technical skills and background in at least 4 of the following areas:
- Microservices or API-based Integration Architecture
- Event-driven Architecture
- Automation & Integration Platforms (eg: Workato, Tray.io, Boomi, Hightouch)
- Modern Data Pipeline Management Tools (eg: Fivetran)
- Process Mining, Process Discovery, Value Stream Mapping
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, and/or other cloud computing services
- Ability to prioritize competing tasks, think independently, and take the initiative
- Communication skills with all levels of business and a customer service mindset

Salary: The targeted pay range for this position is between $128,000 to $159,000. Please note that the actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonus.
