POSITION SUMMARY:
Targa is currently seeking an individual to learn and grow into the position of Analyzer Technician. The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of chromatographs and have a strong aptitude to learn and apply newly acquired skills.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Installation, maintenance and calibration of on-stream gas chromatographs (Emerson, AIC, Siemens, ABB)
- Installation, maintenance and calibration of various utility analyzers including moisture, 02, H2S.
- Recognize malfunctions in individual equipment and perform maintenance as necessary to correct problems.
- Interface with SCADA, DCS, and analyzer host systems
- Work with co-workers in the response to emergency situations requiring coordinating equipment shutdown, and/or evacuation.
- Operate and perform activities in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.
- Write repair work request for routine and major maintenance that cannot be handled as part of normal operations using a work order system (Maximo)
- Utilize proper Lockout/Tag out operating and safety procedures.
- Must be proficient in the use of PCs and PC software.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to learn areas of analyzer theory and operation.
- Must be a self-starter and be able to prioritize work based on business needs.
- Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors; able to work in a self-directed work team.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objectives.
- Must become proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software modules, including Word and Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years’ experience with natural gas/liquid measurement.
- Experience working in a natural gas facility/plant environment.
- Experience with analyzer instrument diagnoses, repairs, installations and calibrations
- Ability to work with internal and external customers verify product flows and volumes.
- Associate degree in instrumentation, measurement, analyzers or equivalent training
- Experience with a computer-based management system (Maximo)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in changing climate conditions and a plant environment.
- Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
- Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (e.g., eye protection, footwear, FRC)
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Salary : $52,600 - $66,700
