- Creates a Daily Collection Report (DCR) for each of the 3 lines of business (PT, MV, SIT). Collects data from eight branch locations, for three lines of business, and ten payment methods. Reconciles branch data with the source system data, researches and determines any discrepancies. Advises branch manager(s) on accounting procedures, compliance, balancing and money handling rules to correct errors. Determines if system problems exist and discusses with the Accounting Team plan of action for resolution. Ensures the DCR balances before moving on to the next process.
- Performs system Interface processes for Property Tax- Tax Client source system and the Tax Office General Ledger system. Ensures data from the source system is complete and accurately loaded into the General Ledger. Identifies issues with the interface process and takes corrective action.
- Reconciles the DCR to the Daily Bank Account Statement. Analyzes patterns to determine when money should appear at the bank after collection. Researches the history of the missing funds to determine the cause of missing funds and follows through to locate and deposit missing funds.
- Advises appropriate individuals of the bank adjustments (e.g. wires, NSFs, verification errors, counterfeit adjustments, deposit slip errors, research adjustments) to ensure proper recording.
- Prepares the daily Property tax disbursements file of funds to the appropriate entities, loads the disbursement file into the Banking platform to create the ACH batches. Processes the appropriate payments to the State Comptroller via the appropriate Motor Vehicle payment method.
- Prepares, processes, and tracks Tax Office requisitions for purchase orders and check requests.
- Serves as back up to the team for key critical daily activities.
- Prepares reports, work papers, and schedules for external entities including both internal and external auditors.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements

TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's degree or higher Two (2) full-time years of accounting, auditing, or Tax Office experience required.
OR
TO APPLY, must have an Associate's degree Five (5) full-time years of accounting, auditing, or Tax Office experience required.
OR
TO APPLY, must have a High School diploma or GED Seven (7) full-time years of accounting, auditing, or Tax Office experience required.
**Accounting degree preferredMust have accomplished general ledger accounting, reconciliation skills, and communications skills.
Must be detailed oriented and have spreadsheet development skills.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.
