About Tasveer
Mission: To inspire social change through thought-provoking South Asian films, art, and storytelling. Tasveer was founded in 2002, in the aftermath of 9/11 to provide a platform for South Asians to dismantle stereotypes of South Asians in the mainstream media and to promote social change.
Tasveer is looking for a passionate, creative thinker, with event planning and management experience to help manage, plan and execute all monthly programs including but not limited to the Tasveer South Asian Film Festival (TSAFF), Tasveer South Asian Literature Festival (TSAL), Tasveer Youth Collective Series and more.
Core Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute all festival and monthly programs
- Develop and maintain project plans for festival & events through Asana
- Communicate with different groups and organizations about the upcoming events and create partnerships
- Organize and schedule event planning meetings, create agendas
- Take impeccable notes during the meetings
- Manage communication with key event management stakeholders and the broader event support teams
- Manage and set up ticketing page
- Plan and books flights, ground transportation, and accommodations for visitors as needed
- Beyond the monthly events, also lead as the Tasveer Festival Manager in collaboration with the Programming Lead
Performance Expectations:
- Master the virtual tools needed to set up events efficiently
- Meet project milestone deadlines by using project management tools such as Trello
- Demonstrate keen attention to detail and excellent follow-through
- Generate high-impact ideas, multitask, and manage projects effectively under pressure
- Work independently, with minimal direction, to drive the achievement of project milestones and deliverables
- Demonstrate commitment, passion, and optimism
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proven track record of effective project planning and management, capacity for meeting deadlines, strong attention to detail, and superb follow-through
- Ability to build rapport with key partners to grow programs and initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective, positive working relationships with internal and external partners and teams
- Ability to think creatively, solve problems, and identify needs quickly
- Should be able to drive and scout venues
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Three years of event management/planning experience
- Passion for film, entertainment, the arts, and social justice
- A college degree is preferred
- Basic experience collecting and analyzing data

Pay & Benefits
- Salary: $48,000
- Benefits: PTO, Medical, Holidays, Additional total 2.5-week vacation in Summer and Winter, 401K.
- Partial remote work option: Until COVID ends completely, employees may work remotely. After that time, the person in this role can work 3 days remotely and 2 days on-site but must be available for scheduled on-site meetings and events when needed.
