Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Accounting Functions: Ensure accurate financial recordkeeping, maintain the general ledger, manage cash and account reconciliations, and prepare financial statements.
- Team Leadership: Supervise daily activities including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Cash Management.
- Financial Close Process: Perform and monitor monthly financial close, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements and analysis.
- Treasury Functions: Review daily banking requirements and manage treasury operations.
- Compliance: Maintain company financial records in compliance with policies, practices, and US GAAP.
- Budget Preparation: Assist in budget and forecast preparation by analyzing and consolidating financial data.
- Policy Enhancement: Evaluate and enhance accounting policies and procedures.
- Technical Support: Provide technical accounting, GAAP, and potentially tax guidance.
- Collaboration: Work with the tax team on sales tax and use filings.
- Special Reports: Prepare special reports by collecting and interpreting financial data.
- Internal Controls: Maintain internal controls to safeguard revenue receipts and manage costs.
- System Enhancements: Assist the CFO in recommending system enhancements to meet business needs.
- Relationship Management: Assist the CFO in managing banking, customer, vendor, and risk management relationships.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor of Science in Accounting; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Certification: CPA is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in an accounting leadership role, preferably within the wholesale consumer goods industry. Experience in a privately-held company is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite is a strong plus) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Leadership: Proven strategic thinker and problem-solver with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Initiative: Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to identify opportunities and manage change.
- Performance Analysis: Experience in analyzing business performance and presenting financial analysis.
