Description
Summary: Transfer, and Stack finished cases on wooden pallets, reads production and delivery schedules and stacking pattern to determine sorting and transfer procedures, arrangement of packages on pallet, and destination of loaded pallet.
Essential duties/Responsibilities:
Duties performed by employees in this position will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including Lock Out Tag Out.
- Conducts periodic quality checks. Takes corrective action to fix defects identified.
- Communicates with operators from previous and following shifts to review any problems experienced on the machine during one’s shift.
- Communicates with supervisor to determine priorities for the day and identify any make readies or copy changes, or special directions related to the department.
- Covers breaks for other operators and catcher packers. (If needed)
- Performs routine housekeeping at the end of shift or during break downs.
- Observes packages and to detect defective packaging’s
- Checks to make sure product codes and date codes are correct
- Checks and changes all tape on each Little David’s tape machine and make sure all cases are taped top and bottom
- Palletize product onto wooden pallets
- Stops conveyor to clear case jams
- Performs other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervision.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED or three (3) months of related training or experience. Successful completion of a minimum of six (6) weeks of in house operator training

- Dust from paper converting process constantly present.
- Employee constantly works near moving mechanical parts and lift trucks.
- Employee works in a common area shared with others with no division of space.
- May be exposed to hazardous chemicals found in the plant such as Isopropyl acetate, ethyl alcohol, lacquer thinner, etc.
- May experience ambient temperature extremes on hot, humid days.
- Required to wear hair nets, beard nets (if applicable), safety glasses, and hearing protection in the manufacturing area.

- Job requires employee to stand, walk and use hands and fingers in order to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequently required to talk or hear, climb, stoop, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
- Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75lbs.
- Repetitive movement of hands, fingers, and wrists. Good color vision required to distinguish printed shades/colors.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to measure to 1/16” and convert the measurement to appropriate decimal equivalent.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed, written, or oral instructions.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with supervisor to determine production needs and concerns and to pass this information along to other operators. Ability to write clear messages on downtime logs and shift paperwork.
