Job Summary
We are looking for an intelligent and highly motivated User Experience Designer to conceptualize and develop web, mobile, and cross-channel user experience designs that solve our users problems. This person will do this through individual contribution and team participation with attention to brand voice and tone. The UX Designer will utilize a variety of tools including heuristic reviews, sitemaps, user flows, user interviews, wireframes, interactive prototypes, design specifications, experience design briefs, and other visual artifacts that help tell the story. The UX Designer will work with user experience group leadership, and as part of a team with product/project managers, internal business stakeholders, creative teams, and developers.
UX Designer Responsibilities
- Drives user advocacy by demonstrating empathy and understanding of the customers problems, needs, and goals.
- Defines user experience requirements in response to business goals while working with product management, technology, and marketing partners.
- Rapidly creates prototypes, process flows, wireframes, and design specifications.
- Works collaboratively with stakeholders and teammates in the development of use cases required to document business rules and expected online customer behaviors.
- Analyzes, organizes, and participates in user research. Seeks out consumer data and web analytics when developing experience solutions.
- Participates in project reviews; collaborates with the User Experience group in the development of, promotion of, and compliance to, experience design standards.
- Participates in backlog grooming.
UX Designer - Skills and Qualifications
- 4 years relevant design experience with a focus on software
- Experience interacting with creative teams, business owners, and/or technical teams
- Experience with page design/wireframing programs (Sketch)
- Experience working with User Centered Design processes
- Experience writing high level requirements
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to persuade through research and expertise in design
- Solid understanding of:
- Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Psychology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design
- Responsive and adaptive design
- Material design
- Apple/Android human interface guidelines
- Portfolio of recent work
- Moderate level of understanding of the technical capabilities of:
- HTML/CSS/JS libraries/Android & iOS
Extra credit to those with:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design OR equivalent UX certification (Nielsen Norman Group/General Assembly)
