Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with specialized skills in payroll processing and payroll filings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, managing payroll, and ensuring compliance with payroll-related regulations for our small business clients. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with the ability to multitask and manage multiple client accounts efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients. Manage accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Payroll Processing: Administer payroll functions for small business clients, including the calculation of wages, managing deductions, and processing employee payments.
Payroll Filings and Compliance: Prepare and file payroll-related documents, such as tax forms and employment reports. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Transaction Processing: Record financial transactions accurately and complete the posting process in various ledgers.
Financial Reporting: Generate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Provide specialized payroll reports as needed.
Client Communication and Support: Act as a point of contact for client queries related to bookkeeping and payroll. Provide insightful information and reports to support client decision-making.
Collaboration with Accounting Team: Work closely with accountants and tax professionals within the firm to ensure integrated and comprehensive client service.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent bookkeeping and payroll experience.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll processing.
- Familiarity with payroll software and strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and payroll regulations and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
