POSITION SUMMARY: The Catering and Banquet Event Sales Manager is a key member of the Event Sales team, responsible for fostering a collaborative partnership between our operations team, events team, and contracted clients. The position is a blend of Event Sales, curating relationships with clients, and on-site event execution. The Catering and Banquet Event Sales Manager will provide overall leadership, guidance, and direction during contracted events and ensure successful event execution, from the early stages to the completion of the event. They will review every detail of the event with the client as well as venue management to ensure it runs smoothly. The Even Sales Manager is responsible for the development of the department, prospecting new sales, and managing revenue documentation. They will portray enthusiasm for marketing, selling, and coordinating events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate effectively with Event Sales Team
- Creatively generate group sales, including: corporate parties, business/recreational events, group fund raisers, etc. and sell all event spaces in alignment with budgets
- Curate, coordinate, and manage designated events from point of contract to hands-on execution
- Oversees master event calendar to ensure proper scheduling and no discrepancies
- Cultivates, pitches, and secures bookings that attract publicity and attendance to the venue
- Monitors local event calendars to source possible leads, networking opportunities and partnerships
- Conduct relevant market research to facilitate new prospective client bases and penetrate new markets
- Clearly communicate the features and benefits of our event space and event packages
- Develop and maintain long-lasting client relationships and positive brand impressions
- Maintain correspondence and handle all details of event with client throughout event preparation and execution to ensure clients’ needs are met and/or exceeded
- Create organized and detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to be passed along to other departments (i.e. Front of House, Kitchen, etc.) to ensure smooth execution the day of event
- Serve as key liaison between the booking party, senior management, venue level operations teams, and partners to ensure banquets and events are being executed at the highest level
- Respond to all event inquiries and convert inquiries into booked events
- Manage and budget resources for the Catering and Events department with monthly reporting to Finance Manager
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly and annual sales objectives by overseeing and driving planning around a calendar of key seasons and dates
- Assist the Operations teams with any special projects deemed necessary

EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-3 years prior Event Sales of Event Coordinator experience, including managing a team preferred
- High-volume sales experience, preferably in hospitality, restaurant and or/entertainment venue.
- Experience booking, coordinating, and executing successful group events.
- Proficient computer skills, specifically - Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Drive, Adobe, etc.
- Prior budget management experience
