This job will require travel throughout the tri-state areaThe Pastry Specialist will be responsible for strategically utilizing foodservice knowledge and expertise, in combination with industry trends and familiarity with The Chefs’ Warehouse products, to provide talking points for our Pastry & Baking lines to our Sales reps and Customers. The role of this position is to promote the versatility of our Pastry solutions to operators. This work is done collaboratively with Sales to determine the best way to highlight and coordinate the Pastry & Baking portion of vendor presentations Marketing Events at our Bronx location. He/she will heighten awareness of Pastry & Baking inventory through weekly Hot Sheet for items to focus on and push. Working closely with Sales and Customers to create interest and solve challenges for operators. He/she will research and be current on food trends and provide Pastry & Baking insight both internally and with external customers. He/she will participate in food shows, presentations, and other strategic events. When travel is safe again, this person could travel up to 20% as part of ride along and customer visits. Qualifications: Pastry or food-related degree preferred (Food Science, Culinary Arts, etc.). At five years of prior experience in a commercial/production kitchen or other professional cooking or food environment, ideally with a focus in Pastry & Baking Ideal candidate would have prior experience as a Pastry Chef. Knowledge of chocolate, recipes, basic mixing and blending skills and the ability to communicate easily with customers and operators. Working knowledge of how food ingredients function in pastry and baked goods. Demonstrated success communicating food trends and their applications to a wide variety of audiences and platforms including food shows and virtual presentations.Dairyland USA Corporation #IND1
