GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The role of the Assistant Regional Manager is a developmental position that is geared towards developing leaders to assume a Field Management Role within the Company. The training period will consist of several educational and training requirements to help set the foundation to reach the fullest potential within the organization. Upon successful completion of the training period, the employee is expected to be placed into a Regional Manager or Director of Retail Operations Role.
During the training period and after, the employee will responsible for many facets of management to include, but not limited to: managing the operations of TireDiscounters retail stores, quality of its operations in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures, recruiting, hiring, evaluating, and developing Sales Associates, Service Technicians, General Managers and Service Managers, implementing sales strategies, and keeping an active presence in your assigned region’s stores in order to create a customer-oriented culture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Sales
- Maximize revenue generation at each store through effective manager development
- Establish sales objectives for retail store teams
- Motivate, inspire and manage your store sales teams to meet and exceed business and sales objectives
- Provide consistent feedback on performance
Business Management
- Maintain gross profit and expense control objectives for your region
- Generate monthly overview of the region’s performance with objectives met and suggested methods on overcoming challenges
- Support stores to ensure proper scheduling of staff, meeting demand, safety requirements, and sales objectives are upheld
- Educate on, and enforce company policy with staff
- Delegate authority and subsequent ownership of functions as suitable for the position
Human Resources
- Manage organizational issues within regional operations to include succession planning and development
- Supervise staff to ensure that all follow safe operating procedures
- Maintain client and public relationships
- Lead performance management and training initiatives with regional staff
- Active in recruiting General Manager, Service Managers, and Sales Associates for your region
- Ensure staff receives appropriate training, motivation, and leadership to maximize performance efforts
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Leadership skills with proven results in mentoring, performance management, and a record of developing staff
- Excel in prioritizing and projecting sales objectives. Action oriented and results driven. Proven history of strong work ethic
- Able to travel to stores in assigned area with occasional overnight travel
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at one time
- Technological literacy. Strong telephone, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and perform effectively under pressure
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Associates Degree or comparable experience
- 5 years of Automotive retail management experience is preferred
- Valid state motor vehicle license. Open to relocation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Walking, standing, sitting, listening and talking on a wide variety and continual basis
- Movement generally throughout the facility areas required on a continual basis
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Able to operate motor vehicles to meet travel requirement
