Global Public Relations Manager

The Global Public Relations Manager proactively develops and implements strategic, non-financial, results-oriented communications plans directed at media (local, trade and national), technology vendor partners, reseller customers and others.

Work with Sales, Product Marketing, Investor Relations, senior executives and other functional areas to package and develop media communication plans that shape public perception and help create demand in the company's marketed and pipeline products, services and strategies.

Must be able to find, develop and translate our value across many functional areas into newsworthy communications and help the company be the leading voice of distribution value in our competitive market. Serve as a media spokesperson for TD SYNNEX along with and in partnership with key executives, and will frequently interact with and advise senior executives on media communications and positioning.

Maintain thorough knowledge of the TD SYNNEX business, value proposition and strategies and be a strategic counselor and go-to person for high-level communications strategy with senior and functional management and product teams.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Manage Public Relations agencies.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of Public Relations programs and plans. Drive consistent company message through all of these activities.
  • Manage all non-financial incoming media requests on a timely basis.
  • Establish immediate relationships with local, trade and national media, including key publications, reporters and editors.
  • Continuous evaluation of current media outlets.
  • Research, develop messaging, draft, distribute and pitch all non-financial press releases, analyst briefings, social media, blogs, and other outlets.
  • Maintain a queue of potential story ideas and hold frequent strategic meetings with executives to develop new ideas, paying particular attention to those stories and angles that are likely to maximize TD SYNNEX's value in the media, with vendor partners, reseller customers, and current and prospective co-workers.
  • Prepare executives, customers and vendor partners for interviews.
  • Advise senior executives - including CEO, President, and Senior Vice Presidents - on ways to strengthen their presence and visibility with the press.
  • Help executives learn from each experience and point to areas where improvement or refinement of message is possible.
  • Ghost write bylined content, quotes and responses for company thought leaders.
  • Coordinate public relations activities with new and existing vendor partners, including press release development, executive quote development, and review of all vendor-prepared press releases about TD SYNNEX for style, positioning and portrayal of TD SYNNEX and our partnerships.
  • Work with multiple parties - internal and external - to review and coordinate announcement of new vendor partners.
  • Respond to reporter requests in a timely manner that meets urgent media deadlines.
  • Provide public relations support for key TD SYNNEX events.
  • Develop custom agendas for media attending events like TechSelect Partner Conferences.
  • Contact and coordinate with attending customers and vendors who are willing to speak about TD SYNNEX.
  • Build talking points for all executives speaking to media at events.
  • Meet with all attending executives in advance of events to develop press releases and news for the show.
  • Monitor the trade media on daily basis to gather competitive information and send to appropriate internal executives and stay current on trends impacting the channel.
  • Collect TD SYNNEX news clips and distributing internally.
  • Work with Finance, HR, Legal and other departments when dealing with sensitive or crisis issues.
  • Work with regional communications leads to align local activities with global TD SYNNEX messaging.
  • Facilitate joint announcements and press releases as appropriate.
  • Develop and support editorial calendars in collaboration with Corporate Content team.
  • Write and edit select content and leverage industry insight for all content development.

  • Strong writing skills are required as this position is responsible for developing materials for use on internal and external communications vehicles.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor's degree strong preferred.
  • Candidates with 8 years corporate, PR agency or relevant experience will be considered.
  • Broad communications experience with expertise in product communications, product access, launch preparation and issues management is required.
  • Relevant experience at a PR agency or in-house at another company is preferred
  • Able to adjust readily to change and adapt as needed.
  • Able to be diplomatic when handling calls/correspondence for Management.
  • Able to display a preference for interacting with people, being friendly, outgoing, articulate and socially at ease.
  • Able to identify areas of risk/concern in area of responsibility.
