The Doctors Company is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This is a hybrid position based in Napa, CA.
Position Mission
Reporting to the Director of Accounts Payable, this position is responsible for processing company invoices, processing claims, supporting accounts payable audits, and providing superior customer service.
Qualifications
- Associate degree, accounting or math preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) years Accounts Payable experience or equivalent.
- One-year experience Basic Word and Excel.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information processed, as appropriate.
- Good oral and written communication skills and excellent telephone etiquette.
- Good organizational skills; ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to create letters, memos and spreadsheets using basic Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral. Ability to deal with problems involving several set variables in standardized situations.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all systems that impact Accounts Payable
- Process payment requests timely and accurately and ensure they are coded correctly
- Test disaster recovery procedures quarterly
Customer Service and Collaboration
- Provides superior customer service to TDC's vendors, auditors, and other departments
- Communicate elevated issues up to more senior management
Maintain Strong Internal Controls
- Assist with internal audits of accounts payable
- Ensure auditors receive requested data timely and ensure its accuracy
- Maintain a strong system of internal controls to minimize errors and provide a good system of checks and balances
Process Improvement
- Enhance, develop, and continuously refine the accounts payable process
Other Duties as Assigned
- Assists with a variety of department and company-wide projects
- Make oneself available for any and all duties as requested
