Job Summary
Our MEP Surveyor, performs layout of the location/s of specific, trade-related features. The locations may indicate inserts, sleeves, pad corners, or any number of MEP points of interest. The position uses sensitive instrumentation to perform the layout, such as robotic total stations. Interfaces with VDC and the Production teams to set up and maintain project files and project production.

Essential Duties
- Performs preliminary MEP Survey work necessary for preparing plans and estimating costs for construction layout and as-built completion.
- Set up and maintenance of equipment.
- Control point and field point creation and maintenance.
- Uses instrumentation and tools to produce layout.
- Inspects to ensure that proper compliance with construction specifications is adhered to.
- Reviews preliminary construction plans to ensure proper quantities, dimensions, special provisions and overall completeness.
- Ability to align project layout with reference stakes and guidelines on the ground.
- Ability to project size and organization of work to determine day-to-day duties.
- Meets with field Superintendents and project managers to determine and satisfy their survey and/or as-built requirements.
- Prepares survey and/or as-built information for delivery to clients.
- Coordination with VDC and production teams to perform layout within the job-site schedule.
- Location of MEP features as requested, and the documentation or collection of data to indicate existing or conditions in conflict with the design model.
- Assist other MEP Surveyors to complete all layout and data collection with the highest level of accuracy.
- Maintains a project database regarding job progress and records and reports any potential issues.
- Creation of layout files using AutoCad or similar platform.
- Assist with the training of MEP Surveyor I partners.
- This work may require travel amongst different TDI geographies to perform the work of MEP Surveyor II.
- This work may require the installation of fixtures, inserts, or other features located by layout.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of MEP Surveyor experience preferred.
- High School or GED required
- Associates degree or Vocational Training in related field is preferred
- Requires a technological comfort level, quick to learn, and attention to detail in the field
- Must be willing to work outdoors or on construction project jobsites subject to extreme heat and cold, noise, vibrations and dust.
