TDX Global is a subsidiary of Tanadgusix Corporation (TDX), an Alaska Native village corporation created under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) of 1971. TDX Shareholders live in, or have ancestral ties to, the village of St. Paul, Alaska. We are currently recruiting for a Plumber who will work in Qatar.
Summary
This position is for a Journeyman level plumber, working at a remote overseas facility located in Qatar and reporting to the TDX Global, LLC, Facility Manager. Plumber performs preventive and some corrective maintenance services to existing facility systems. Systems Include: Facility Plumbing, Water Purification, Fire Pumps, Water Storage Tanks, Pumps, Controls and Wastewater Treatment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with minimal supervision or direction to solve problems with a variety of variables. Examines facility systems to diagnose problems using proper inspection / testing and monitoring techniques while exhibiting safe and proper use of tools.
- Inspects systems on a routine basis and performs maintenance where necessary to keep facility in functioning and serviceable condition.
- Reports any major maintenance needs and recommends corrective action as appropriate.
- Completes daily, weekly, or monthly checklists of pre-scheduled building and equipment maintenance procedure.
- Must be able to quickly become familiar with the design and layout of the facility; to learn the locations of installed systems / equipment; and understand operating procedures relating to the systems controls.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and according to the standards of TDX Global, LLC, OSHA, and our Customer.
- Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of specified building and safety codes.
- May escort subcontractors during completion of their work at the site.
- Perform other preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as directed by TDX Global Facility Manager per OEM specifications and industry standards.
- Must maintain a clean and safe workplace while and after performing maintenance tasks.
- Maintains the safe operation of facility systems including auxiliary equipment such as various types of pumps, controls, storage tanks, etc.
- Work a 12-hour shift as dictated by the Facility Manager, to provide 24-hour facility support.
- Be available as needed, to support operations issues that may arise, unless specific approval has been given by supervision to be out of range of the operations location. Be available to support on-call schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Facility Manager.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Level Plumber.
- Valid State Plumbing License a plus.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- A valid drivers' license issued by state of residence and in good standing is required.
- Ability to work extended work schedules as required for facility support and repair of mission critical equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage multiple projects, priorities, and relationships.
- Must have a Department of Defense Secret level security clearance or Interim Secret Level security clearance. Or, be able to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
